BACKGROUND: A number of studies associate Alzheimer's disease with APOE polymorphism and alleles which favor the increased expression of immunological mediators such as cytokines or acute phase proteins. We integrated this information to better define risk and determine the relative importance of APOE and immunological mediators. METHODS: We investigated functional gene variants for APOE, IL-10 (3 loci), ACT (2 loci), HMGCR, IL-1alpha, IL-1beta, TNF-alpha, IFN-gamma, and IL-6 found for 260 AD patients and 190 controls enrolled in Northern Italy. Trait emotional intelligence (EI) is a noteworthy psychological resource in nursing. However, its effects on well-being and job performance are inconsistent. Thus, we explored the latent beneficial and risk profiles of trait EI among 461 Japanese eldercare nurses. Latent profile analysis revealed six latent profiles. In addition, multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) showed that the profile with the highest overall scores on the trait EI dimensions was associated with the most beneficial outcomes (better well-being, higher job performance). We have conducted a literature review of published studies, which comprehend congenital heart disease (CHD) and COVID-19, in order to present the overall evidences of both exposure and clinical risk of patients with adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) and to propose a risk profile schema for those patients to be incorporated into vaccine distribution decisions.

Study design: Hundred children were interviewed to record any illness, oral hygiene practices and fluoride exposure after obtaining a three day diet diary. Examination was done to record plaque and dental caries status. We investigated the development of school and sport burnout in adolescent student-athletes (N Time 1 = 391, N Time 2 = 373) during their first year in upper secondary school using an embedded mixed-methods design. The questionnaire-based data were analyzed with growth mixture modeling and four burnout profiles were identified among student-athletes. From the found burnout profiles, two were typical for the interviewed subsample of elite athletes (n = 17), that is, burnout risk and non risk profiles. To gain a more comprehensive view to non-institutional investment behavior, this study develops and tests a set of hypotheses linking self-congruence, risk profile and investment experience with perceived investment value (PIV). In addition, the study tests direct and indirect effects of PIV on positive word-of-mouth. The hypotheses are tested on data from 440 private investors. The findings reveal that 1) self-congruence and risk profile are positively associated with five out of six of the PIV dimensions, 2) the relationship between PIV and word-of-mouth are more complex than is generally thought, and 3) user experience moderates four out of the twelve hypothesized paths.
